9 Hole March Madness Round 2 (Fakenham)

On a very chilli Monday round 2 of the 9 hole March Madness competition got underway at Fakenham golf course.

6th hole at Fakenham golf course
It was blobs ahoy over the first 4 holes as each play started of erratically with a series of good and bad holes. At this stage all 3 players had mustered only 5 points.

From then on Kevin found difficulty mastering the greens and a series of missed short putts left him trailing in last place with 12 points.

Despite a series of wayward drives Bob (with the help of his enormous handicap) managed to recover well and scored consistently on the last 5 holes giving a very respectable 17 points.

John also played well over the last 5 holes but a couple of poor chips on 6 and 8 cost him shots and he ended on 15 points.

Scores going into final round at Dereham on 27th March

Bob 36 pts
John 30 pts
Kevin 28 pts

9 hole March Madness round 1 (Bawburgh)

Last week saw the first round of the March Madness cup which is played on 9 hole courses during March.

Winner is the person with most stableford points over the rounds.

First round took place at Easton golf centre on Monday

As always John started with a blob but recovered well, despite only having one fully working knee, to score 15 points. Without a blob on the last things could have been better.

Kevin had a typical round of pars and blobs in mustering 16 pts but needs to improve his consistency.

Not surprisingly, as Bob is now a full time golfer and is thinking of living at Bawburgh golf course, he constructed a very solid 19 pts only failing to score 2pts or more on one hole. Hopefully we will see a handicap adjustment soon.

Round two is at Fakenham on Monday, tee off mid day
